Nicholas Hodac
ICBA President
Nicholas Hodac is the Director General of UNESDA Soft Drinks Europe since October 2019. He leads the Brussels-based EU association representing the European soft drinks industry with 23 national members and 9 corporate members. Within UNESDA’s remit are a wide range of soft drinks including squashes, still drinks, carbonates, powders, fruit drinks, iced teas, iced coffees, syrups, energy drinks and sports drinks. The areas of priority for Nicholas Hodac are Sustainability (e.g. packaging, plastic, collection) and Responsibility (e.g. nutrition, health, sugar reduction, labelling) which form the core of UNESDA’s Aspirations for 2019-2024.
Previously, Nicholas Hodac was Government and Regulatory Affairs Executive for IBM Europe and leading on issues such as Artificial Intelligence and Trade policy. Prior to joining IBM Europe, Nicholas Hodac worked for Ford of Europe as Head of the Brussels EU Affairs Office and for General Motors Europe.
Andrés Massieu
ICBA Vice President
Andrés Massieu is currently the Director General of the Mexican Beverage Association (MexBeb), also formerly known as the National Association of Producers of Soft Drinks and Carbonated Waters (ANPRAC) since 2021. He has held various positions both in the Federal Government, in the Ministry (Department) of the Interior and in the Presidency of the Republic, as well as in the Government of the State of Mexico between 2000-2006.
In the private sector, he was appointed as Director General of the National Chamber of the Radio and Television Industry (National Association of Broadcasters) in 2006.
Between 2009-2012, he served as Federal Deputy (Congressman). At the end of the Legislature, he was appointed by the President Elect of Mexico as Head of Institutional Identity of the Presidential Transition Team.
In December 2012 and until November 2018, again, in the Presidency of the Republic, he served as Head of Governmental Strategy and Communication, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, and Chief of Staff for Political and Government Affairs. From 2019-2020 he assumed the position of Secretary of Urban and Metropolitan Development of the Government of the State of Mexico. Since 2021, he is also Vice President of Beverages of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of the United Mexican States (CONCAMIN), as well as member of the National Board of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE).
He holds a Law degree and completed a Master’s degree in Public Administration as well as several diplomas in Strategic Political Analysis, Political and Electoral Institutions, and Quality Professional Service.
